Myma.ai’s Digital Compendium supports interactive menus and room service ordering, allowing guests to browse menus, add items to their cart, and submit orders directly through the Digital Compendium.
Hotels can create multiple establishments, customize menus, manage guest orders, and track incoming requests through the Myma.ai dashboard.
How It Works for Guests
Guests can access the available menus directly through their property's Digital Compendium. See Our Demo Example Here!
From here, they can:
Browse Menus: View available establishments and their menus, such as breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert.
Add Items to Cart: Select menu items and add them to their order.
Enter Guest Information: Provide details such as their name, room number, email address, and mobile number.
Select a Tip: Choose a suggested tip percentage, enter a custom tip, or select no tip.
Review Their Order: View the order summary, including applicable taxes, tips, and the total.
Confirm Their Order: Submit the order and receive an order confirmation.
Note: If a guest accesses the Digital Compendium through a QR code associated with a specific room or unit, their room number will automatically be pre-filled.
How to Set Up Menus in the Dashboard
To get started, navigate to: Digital Compendium → Content Items → Menu
Under the new Menu category, you can create and manage establishments, menus, and individual menu items.
Step 1: Add an Establishment
Begin by creating an establishment. This could be a restaurant, room service outlet, or another food and beverage service available at your property.
Under General Information, enter:
Establishment Name: The name of the restaurant or service.
Description: A brief description of the establishment.
Under Additional Settings, you can configure:
Guest Information: Select which details guests must provide when submitting an order.
Tax Settings: Configure how taxes are applied.
Pricing Display: Choose how prices are displayed to guests.
Payment Methods: Select the payment options available for orders.
Currently, the available payment methods include:
Cash on Delivery: Guests pay when their order is delivered.
Charge to Room: Guests can request that the order be charged to their room.
Coming Soon: Credit card payments will also be supported, providing guests with an additional payment option.
Create Menus
Once an establishment has been created, you can begin adding menus to it.
Each establishment can have multiple menus based on the services offered.
For example, a room service establishment might offer:
Breakfast Menu
Lunch Menu
Dinner Menu
Dessert Menu
You can also configure operating hours for each menu to reflect when the service is available. This allows hotels to organize their food and beverage offerings by meal period or service.
Add Menu Items
After creating your menus, you can begin adding the individual items available for guests to order.
Each item is associated with its corresponding menu and establishment.
For example:
Establishment: In-Room Dining
Menu: Breakfast
Menu Items:
Continental Breakfast
Pancakes
Eggs Benedict
Fresh Fruit Platter
Coffee & Tea
This allows you to build and organize your property's food menus directly within the Digital Compendium.
Preview Your Menu
As you create your establishments, menus, and menu items, you can use the Preview feature to see how they will appear to guests.
This allows you to review the layout, menu organization, and overall guest experience before making the menu available.
Managing Orders Through Work Orders
Whenever a guest submits an order through the Digital Compendium, a new work order is automatically created in the Myma.ai dashboard.
To view submitted orders, navigate to: Guest Messaging → Work Orders
Each new order will appear on the Work Orders board with the relevant information, including:
Status: Initially marked as Submitted.
Task: The type of request or order.
Priority: The priority assigned to the work order.
Submission Time: When the order was placed.
Guest Information: Details provided by the guest, such as name, room number, email address, and phone number.
Order Details: Information about the items ordered.
This provides staff with a centralized location to view and manage incoming orders and guest requests.
An upcoming enhancement will allow staff to subscribe to Work Order notifications directly from the dashboard.
A new Subscribe to Notifications button will be available at the top of the Work Orders screen.
Staff will be able to configure notifications through:
Email: Receive an email whenever a new work order or form submission is received.
SMS: Receive a text notification when a new request is submitted.
This will help hotel teams stay informed of new orders and respond to guest requests more efficiently.
Benefits of Interactive Menus
By integrating menus and ordering directly into the Digital Compendium, hotels can:
Simplify Room Service: Allow guests to order food and beverages without calling the front desk.
Centralize Guest Requests: Automatically send submitted orders to the Work Orders dashboard.
Personalize the Guest Experience: Pre-fill room information for guests accessing room-specific QR codes.
Customize Menus: Create multiple establishments and menus with their own operating hours.
Improve Staff Efficiency: Organize incoming orders and requests within a single dashboard.
With interactive menus and integrated work order management, Myma.ai’s Digital Compendium goes beyond providing property information, allowing guests to request services and place orders directly from their devices.
